FSC is short for Forest Stewardship Council, which is an international non-profit label scheme for sustainable wood and paper.
FSC helps ensure sustainable operation of the forests of the world by setting up requirements with regards to:
- Replanting of trees
- Working environment for the people working in the forests (education, safety equipment and proper wages).
The documentation of FSC-certified products primarily relates to traceability of fiber material. In short, the FSC-label is your warranty that you buy the tree and paper in good conscience.
