Formula A/S wins Ballerup Municipality Environmental Honors 2010

The Municipality of Ballerup has established the Environmental Prize to strengthen and acknowledge local environmental initiatives. The Environmental Prize is awarded once a year to a person, association,
company or institution, which has made an extraordinary effort in favour of the environment.
In 2010, Ballerup chose to award Formula with the Environmental Prize to recognise the many initiatives Formula has taken, not only to become an increasingly more environmentally sound company, but to spread the environmental word to other businesses in the graphics industry and act as inspiration to other sectors of trade.
The initiatives include Formula’s strive to become certified with the environmental certifications of EMAS, FSC, The Swan and GA’s Climate Calculator tool – all aiding Formula in offering their customers printed matter produced with consideration for the environment. A most welcome fact that Formula customers equally use in their marketing efforts to signal a concern for the environment. Formula is eager to continue down the green path, and will carry on investing in new technology with less impact on the environment. Last, but not least, Formula seeks to spread the word of environmental awareness to customers through a straightforward marketing strategy.
– Historically speaking, printing plants and graphics art companies are not known for their efforts to save and preserve the environment says Marketing Manager Merethe Skyum. At Formula, we actively work to break with this reputation. Although it’s an expense at first, we are certain this investment will be worthwhile in the long run, both locally and globally.
The Environmental Prize ceremony took place Thursday 2 September 2010 at the Formula domicile in Måløv. Pictured from left are Chairman of the Board Tom Bacher, Mayor Ove E. Dalsgaard and CEO Bjarne Skyum.
