Targeted environmental considerations.
Evidently, Formula has an environmental policy. Among other things, it includes the following:
- we give our clients advice about the product's environmental impact
- we continuously try to minimize consumption of resources
- we stay up-to-date on the development of cleaner technology
- we set up goals for our environmental effort and constantly assess the results
- we evaluate new suppliers on the basis of their performance in the environmental area
- we all participate actively in the environmental work
- we co-operate with our partners regarding handling of environmental tasks
- we publish an EMAS environmental impact statement every second year
We want to make sure that our production shows as much consideration for the environment as possible. Therefore, we have targeted environmental management of all phases of the production. We continuously work on minimizing paper waste products and re-use the maximum amount of residue paper. At the same time, we utilize carbon neutral heat at our production facility.
Thus, Formula has:
- Certification to GA Climate Calculator
- Licence to produce printed matter equipped with the eco-label The Swan
- FSC certification
- EMAS registration
We do all this because we think it is worthwhile to take care of the environment. And because we want to be able to offer our clients environmentally friendly solutions.
Carbon neutral printed matter
Formula has certificate to the "GA Climate Calculator", which is the Graphics Industry Employers' Associations official climate calculation tool used to calculate the CO2-emission caused by a single printed matter (Carbon Footprint).
The calculations are performed in accordance with the internationally recognized Green House Gas Protocol.
A printed matter can be carbon neutralized by purchasing and deleting CO2-quotas.
Your printed matter can be produced carbon neutralized at Formula.
The eco-label The Swan
Most people are familiar with the Nordic eco-label The Swan. The criteria for The Swan have been determined on the basis of an assessment of the product's life cycle - from cradle to grave - and what the environmentally best part of the market can manage. This ensures that the product has good environmental properties within its product category and that special considerations have been made with regard to health - without compromising quality.
As a Formula customer you can get the Swan-label on your printed matter without any additional costs.

EMAS
As part of our environmental goals, our production in Vivild is EMAS-registered. EMAS stands for: Eco Management and Audit Scheme, and it is the EU's scheme for environmental management and environmental auditing. The production is certified in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard in order for us to be EMAS-registered.

Forest Stewardship Council
Furthermore, Formula is FSC-certified. FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) helps ensure sustainable operation of the forests of the world. For example by making sure that no more is being cut down than what is being planted. Furthermore, the FSC guarantees that animal and plant life is protected, while the people working in the forests are provided with education, safety equipment and proper wages.
